The team principal and driver is Alan Balinsky. Alan is also the General Manager of Woodbine Toyota/Scion in Toronto Ontario. Alan has been involved in motorsports since the age of 17. He has competed in everything from autocross and circuit racing to drag racing in the last 32 years. ABR currently races in the Ontario GT Sprint circuit racing series and the Varac (Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada) G70 series. The Ontario GT Sprint & G70 series compete at Mosport International Raceway and Shannonville Motorsport Park in Ontario, Canada. New for 2012, ABR will be working with Sigma Racing Time Attack at their events tihs upcoming season, we will also be adding a passenger seat for those who wish to experience a different kind of thrill ride! Alan is an advanced driving instructor for various car clubs and specialty groups on local track days.
ABR also raises money for The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto and the Make A Wish Foundation, through various on track events and ride alongs each year.

THE TEAM
The team is directed by crew chief Chris (Coneman) James. His knowledge, patience and countless hours have made ABR the success it is today! Chris is responsible for all modifications done since the purchase of the RX-7 including a spectacular instrument panel and interior sheet metal work. With the help of his son Curtis James, they perform all the race day preparations and race setup, and have been an integral part of the team since its inception. Steve Smith has been instrumental to making the RX-7 perform. His ability to source parts is second to none! Mark Balkissoon of Mazmark Auto and Kam Harduwar continue their ongoing support for 2008. Their knowledge and tuning ability of the rotary engine is unmatched! We are also preparing Kam's 1980 widebody RX-7 for vintage racing competition as you will see in the pics and commentary of our 1st gen project page. always. Thanks again guys! HISTORICAL/RACE INFORMATION
The car was orginally purchased September 14, 1990 by Richard Kamihara's Shogun Racing Team. The car was never titled or street driven and converted to a Firestone Firehawk Series Sports class race car. The car competed in the Firehawk series from 1991 until 1993, which highlights include class win in the 1992 24 Hours of Mosport. The car then competed in the Sports Class of the Michelin Enduro Series from 1993-1996 and was the class champion in 1994. The car has run in the Ontario GT Sprint Series from 1997 until present. We bought the car in 2003 and since that date it has been on the podium 8 times in GT and Vintage Racing. Our biggest win WAS the BEMC 59th Annual Spring Trophy race. This historic race has been won by some of the most famous names in Canadian Racing, and the RX7 is part of it!
